The Brass Chamber Music program at the Frost School of Music provides an array of invaluable performance experiences ranging from brass-specific chamber groups such as traditional quintets, quartets, and trios, to like-instrument groups.
In all of our brass chamber groups, there is a solid focus on the mainstays of the brass chamber music repertoire as well as an active exploration of new music. In addition, brass students perform extensively with students outside the brass program on mixed instrument chamber projects. This allows brass students to work with both students and faculty from the woodwind, percussion, string, guitar, and keyboard programs. This opportunity to work closely with other prominent faculty in the school and to cover repertoire and composers that they might not otherwise gain exposure to provides our students invaluable experience as they gather the tools necessary for a career in music in the 21st Century.
